26 Weeks
We've reached 26 weeks & the third trimester. This week we get to add lettuce to our basket. Cayden is about 14-14.5 inches long and ranging 1.9-2.2 lbs. Today Thomas and I will listen to Cayden's heart beat, record it, and write in his baby book.
At long last your little swimmer can see!
For the first time ever, your wee babe's eyelids have finally opened (remember: they were fused shut previously) and they’re probably having their first moments of sight as you read this (or maybe it already happened while you were brushing your teeth or browsing the internet or something).
In addition to taking in their first visual impressions of their comfy amniotic-filled studio, your little human-bean recently acquired the ability to move their head around.
That's right, if your child were clever enough (which they're not - yet), they could engage in that most basic of non-verbal communication - the head shake/nod. Not to mention, gawking!
In further anti-alien developments: your little super star’s head hair is starting to grow in!
Who knows, maybe a cute little cowlick or two is springing into position right now - the first of years of cute-but-stubborn bed-head.
Your wee piggy's toenails have recently grown in and they're still slowly piling up fat beneath their still-loose-n-wrinkly skin.
Most importantly, their brain tissue and neurons are all developing at a rapid pace, increasing their (genius-level?) brain activity, which will continue to function at accelerated levels for the first eight years of childhood!

25 Weeks
Today we are 25 weeks! 15 more to go. Time is going by so fast. This week we are adding cauliflower to the basket. Cayden's average length for 25 weeks is around 13.5 inches from head to heel and average 1.5-1.7 lbs. He is beginning to exchange his long, lean look for some baby fat. As he does, his wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and he'll start to look more and more like a newborn. He's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.
Our Mississippi baby shower was this past weekend and it was awesome. I really don't know what words to use to describe everything. We are truly blessed with a family that shows their love for us. Stay tuned. Picture are coming soon.

24 Weeks.......
In approximately 112 days we will be parents to Cayden Edward Jones. This week we have cantaloupe to add to our basket. He is as long as an ear of corn (about 12.5 inches long) and weighing about 1.7 lbs - the weight of the canteloupe.
I must say the above app has been so helpful during our pregnancy. It's call I'm Expecting and it's free!
Our last prenatal appointment (10/8/13) went really well. Cayden was moving around for Dr. Stutes.
Well, my nesting is in full swing. Daddy has been very supportive and has cleared out the closet and taken items to the storage room. We are making room for Mr. Cayden. He is getting packages in the mail and we need to find a place for his stuff. We are also putting together a nursery for him. Found a crib set that we like, just have to find a good mattress for it.
Lastly, the baby shower in Mississippi is THIS weekend and I am soooooooo excited. I think I'm more excited about seeing family and friends. Well, stay tuned for more updates. Pictures to come!

17 Weeks Until We're Parents
We are embracing week 23 and we have a grapefruit to add to the basket. Cayden has been kickboxing and doing Zumba in my belly. Thomas has been able to see his movements as well.
Lastly, in 12 days I get to enjoy family and friends at our baby shower in Mississippi. I can't wait to see everyone. All of my sisters will be home!!!!!!
Stay tuned for more updates. We have a prenatal appointment in the morning.
